About me
I created Heaton’s Haven Therapy because I wanted to offer a calm, friendly and welcoming space where people can feel truly seen, heard, understood and supported. After many years working in the care and education sector, I saw how powerful it can be when someone feels safe enough to explore their experiences without judgement. My aim was to build a counselling practice that reflects those values, warmth, compassion, inclusion and a belief that everyone from all walks of life deserve a place to pause, take a breath and reflect. I have supported many people through a wide range of challenges with care, warmth and empathy.
As well as counselling and lived experience I also bring extensive knowledge and understanding of autism, both professionally and personally, which deeply informs my practice. This understanding helps me offer a neurodiversity‑affirming, respectful environment where differences are recognised, supported, and celebrated. I am committed to working in a way that honours each person’s sensory, communication, and processing needs, ensuring therapy feels accessible and genuinely safe.
At the heart of my work is a deep respect for each person’s story. I offer a non‑judgemental, empathetic space where you can feel truly supported as you navigate whatever life is bringing your way.
